Beacon Heights community is situated in northeast Edmonton, south of Yellowhead Trail. Beacon Heights, which was once a part of Town of Beverly, was annexed by the City of Edmonton in 1961. Majority of the residential properties in the area were constructed in the 1950s and 1960s with some homes dating back to the early 1910s.
