About Empire Park

Empire Park community is situated in south west Edmonton, just north of Whitemud Drive, west of Calagry Trail, and east of 111 Avenue; these major arterial roads provide quick and easy commute to the Downtown core, West Edmonton Mall, University of Alberta and much more. Some of the first development occurred in the 1960s and apartment style condominiums are the predominate type of dwelling found in the area. Many of these condos are rented out due to easy access to the Southgate Shopping Mall and LRT and Transit station which are located in the west and are conveniently within walking distance. McKee AfterSchool Care and McKee Public Elementary School are located within the spacious Empire Park that includes multiuse trails, playgrounds and a skating rink. The Empire Park Community League represents this community and offers programs, events and memberships with benefits for activities and recreation all around Edmonton. Cairns Catholic Junior High and High School as well as the Leaning Disabilities Association of Alberta are located on 45 Avenue and just acouple blocks over on Calagry Trail are a variety of amenites and services including, Superstore, a theatre, restaurants & pubs, pharmacies, fast food, and much more. Empire Park also provides quick accesss to hotspots like Snow Valley Ski Club. The Derrick Gold and Winter Club, Millwoods Gold Course, Fort Edmonton, River Valley, Edmonton Valley Zoo and Terwillegar Park.
