Homesteader community is situated in north east Edmonton, in the Hermitage area. Initial residential development in the area occured in the early 1970s with single detached as the most common type of dwelling, followed by duplexes and townhouses. Homesteader overlooks the Sifton Park Ravine offering a spacious off leash area and multi-use trails. Homesteader is bounded by the Yellowhead Trail and offers a quick commute to Fort Road, Wayne Gretzy Drive, and the Anthony Henday.
