About Jackson Heights

Jackson Heights community is situated in south east Edmonton, in the Mill Woods area. It is named after the first female police officer in Canada in 1912, Annie May Jackson. This mature neighbourhood is one of the newest in the area with the majority of the homes built during the 1990s. Most of these residential properties are single detached houses with a double garage. Jackson Heights is bounded by Whitemud Drive and 50 Street overlooking the Mill Creek Ravine and Mill Woods Golf Course, where Jackie Parker Park is also located including picnic sites, BBQ pits, small lake, multi-use trails, and sublime natural viewpoints. Nearing the neighbourhood's core on Jackson Road resides Jackson Heights Public Elementary School within the Annie May Jackson Park, a spacious park with multi-use trails, and sports fields. Some amenities can be found off 50 Street including, Evangel Pentecostal Assembly Church, Tim Hortons , Circle K, Pizza 73, hair and a tanning salon. Public Transit is easily accessible in this neighbourhood, and the location is great being within close vicinity to RioCan Meadows, Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Mill Woods Town Centre, South Park Shopping Centre, and The Meadows Community Recreation. The neighbourhood is represented by the Burnewood community league as well.
