Belmont is a mature neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, for which the parameters are: 137avenue on the north, 40 street on the west, Victoria Trail along the east and Kennedale Ravine to the south. This area was essentially farm land up till 1912, when it was subdivided, but then was left very much dormant though annexed by Edmonton in the early 1960's. Residential development began in the 1970's, and has only recently been completed, offering mostly single detached homes, followed by rowhouses and duplexes. In the centre of the neighbourhood you’ll find Belmont Park containing; South Clareview Community League ( which offers memberships for all ages as well as clubs, event’s, sports and girl guide), beside it resides Belmont Public Elementary School and across the park on 135 Avenue Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Elementary/Junior High School. On 40 Street is Saint John Bosco Catholic Parish Church, and a few blocks to the east on Victoria Trail (one of edmontons arterial roads) is The Belmont Town Centre including many convenient amenities like; Sobeys, Rexall Pharmacy, DynaLIFE Medical Labs, ScotiaBank, BMO Bank of Montreal, hair & nail salon, and your favourite fast food resteraunts; Mcdonalds, Tim Hortons, Wok n’ Go and much more is found only minutes away. Public Transit does run through the neighbourhood and Clareview LRT station is in close proximity.
