About Tipaskan

Tipaskan is a residential community situated in Mill Woods, in Southeast Edmonton, . The borders are between 34 & 28 street, and 91 Avenue & Mill Woods Road NW. Construction began in the late 1970's and tapered off in the 1990's, offering a mix of single detached homes, duplexes, townhouses and low rise apartments. Historically, this area was a Cree Indian reserve in the years 1876-1891. In fact, the Cree word for reserve is Tipaskan, hence the name of this neighbourhood. This community also offers its residents three schools, a park, shopping centre as well as many other amenities nearby. Amenities, schools, and businesses in Tipskan are: Tipaskan School, Frere Antoine Catholic School, Canadian Photography Learning Centre, Alice Produce Garden, Circle K, Tipaskan Dental Clinic, Borderline Pub & Grill, Millwoods Car Wash, and Checkers Pizza and Donair. Millwoods Golf Course can be found just North of Tipaksan, and Millbourne Mall and The Grey Nuns Hospital to the east. Tipaskan offers quick access to South Edmonton Common shopping centre as we as Gateway Boulevard.
