Many of Downtown's businesses, restaurants, cafes, medical offices including St. Albert's Community Hall are all within walking distance of each other. To the south of Downtown, you will find Grandin and Heritage Lakes communities, which are separated by Levasseur road and situated just north of Anthony Henday Drive, and east of Riel Recreation Park and Big Lake. Across to the east, Sturgeon and Forest Lawn neighbourhoods overlook Braeside to northwest and Akinsdale to southeast. Just across Boudreau Road, you will discover Pineview and Woodlands communities, which are conveniently located nearby Campbell Light Industrial Park and famous Service Credit Union Place, leisure and fitness space for St. Albert families. As you continue north across Sturgeon River, you will find Oakmont and Erin Ridge with Sturgeon Hospital just to the east of St. Albert Trail, which is the major connecting route to Edmonton and Northern Alberta, as well as a home to majority of the town's businesses and amenities along the way. The northwest section of St. Albert consists of Mission, Lacombe Park, North and Deer Ridge neighbourhoods. The three main routes that connect all these communities with St. Albert Trail to the east and Ray Gibbon Drive to the west are: McKenney Avenue, Giroux and Vileneuve Roads. Some of the bigger stores like: Home Depot, Wallmart, Costco, Rona and including most of the banks are situated in the northern tip of St. Albert along highway 2.
